Go for Gaming Confirms Marcelo “Coldzera” David as the Representative of their Charity Campaign
São Paulo, August 24th – The Go For Gaming initiative continues to grow and win over more supporters to the cause: Marcelo “Coldzera” David will be the official representative for the movement, which was created to fight stereotypes and preconceptions towards gamers from the broader society.
Coldzera is one of the principal gamers in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive eSports scene. He was considered the Best CS:GO Player in 2016 and 2017 by HLTV, the preeminent website devoted to the game’s competitive scene. Additionally, he was declared to be the Best eSports Player by The Game Awards, which are considered to be the “Oscars of the video game world.”
The professional player will be the main celebrity supporting Go for Gaming’s cause. For him, getting involved with this project also means a chance to provide support to the gaming community and do good both within his matches as well as outside of them.
“I’ve always had this same concern over the problems that Go For Gaming has been trying to tackle. Because of that, I wholly embraced the movement. The non-gaming public is not used to seeing E-sports players as athletes and that’s something we want to change. There are stereotypes and preconceptions that obstruct our community from going beyond certain borders. That’s why I decided to support the project and show that, together, we can do good for each other”, he said.
Besides Coldzera, other famous names from the sports world, such as Neymar, Gabriel de Jesus, and even surfer Gabriel Medina, published statements in support of Go for Gaming on their social media accounts.
It will be possible to donate to Go for Gaming’s charitable cause until December 22nd. The campaign will cap off months of collaborative work: content creation, activities, special appearances from gaming influencers, and social projects with the institutions.
It’s very easy to donate. Just go to https://goforgaming.com.br/quero-doar/ and follow the instructions on the Kickante platform.
The Go for Gaming closing event will feature several special guests, eSports teams, and competitions. It will take place on Saturday December 22nd at Mauro Pinheiro gymnasium in São Paulo.
